The Swordfish
& Tunny Club

Australia's oldest Game Fishing Club
EST. 1934

A Club with a long and rich game fishing history

Formed on Montague Island (NSW) by a small group of intrepid game fishermen, the Swordfish & Tunny Club is Australia's oldest game fishing club. The Club is affiliated with the Game Fishing Association of Australia (GFAA), the Game Fishing Association of Victoria (GFAV) and the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) and Club members receive the benefits of such affiliation. Members are encouraged to fish locally and overseas in tournaments conducted under the auspices of GFAA, GFAV or IGFA as well as fish privately in accordance with the rules and ethics of game fishing.

Although the Club maintains an historical focus on fishing for tuna and marlin species, we actively encourage members to fish for all species of game fish with a particular emphasis on tag and release in order to assist with the preservation of fish stocks for future generations.
