Get excited, Tim Simpson has been confirmed as our Invitational Guest Speaker at his year's STC Annual dinner.

The chance to listen to Tim talk about game fishing is worth the price of our Annual Dinner ticket alone.

Current STC Committee Member, a past editor-in-chief and presenter of world leading game fishing media, IGFA Representative, record holder, educator and a guest star in our First Marlin documentary, Tim Simpson, has been locked in as our Invitational Guest Speaker at his year's STC Annual Dinner. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from an icon of our sport.

"There's not much Tim hasn't done or mastered in the game fishing world (and life). To have him present to our members is a real coup for the Club."

Scott Gowland. STC President.

Tim's talks are held in great regard, much like his fishing experiences and knowledge. His decision to join as at our signature event makes the occasion first-class.

Bookings to the Annual Dinner on Friday November 21st will go on sale soon, where you'll get the opportunity to listen to Tim as he lifts the lid on the world's greatest game fishing destinations he's visited and fished. He will also be available to chat to on the night.

Be sure to spread the word amongst friends and sure up your guests for what will be a memorable evening.

About Tim

" Even before his 24th birthday, Tim Simpson had already achieved six world records from the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), starred in a movie beside Hollywood legends, was coaching fishing at national Shows and was running two of Australia’s largest specialist fishing tackle stores. And that was just the beginning…

Long before his appointment as Editor of BlueWater Boats & Game Fishing magazine in 2005 and his subsequent purchase of the business in 2016, Tim was making a big impact in the fishing tackle industry and game fishing world. He decided to leave school to pursue a university degree in Marine Biology, however took a summer holiday job at the Compleat Angler fishing tackle store in Sydney city – and loved it so much he remained there for the next 23 years.

Fast forward to February 2024, not to brush past decades of Tim's experiences entwined to his game fishing exploits (he'll fill us on all this at the dinner), the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) honoured Tim with the Chester H. Wolfe Outstanding Sportsmanship Award for...

"unwavering dedication to promoting the sport and advocating for ethical angling practices, marking his indelible impact on the global angling community.”

You can read more about Tim's fishing exploits and achievements on the IGFA website.
