Many members know the STC operates as a not-for-profit organisation and makes sure that the any fees collected as part of membership go towards a members affiliation with the governing game fishing bodies to allow them to fish under local and international game fishing rules - providing the right to claim a fishing capture record. They also support the Club's efforts to preserve its history, subsidise events and assist with the cost to run the Club (Eg. This website).
The recent work undertaken by our volunteer committee to produce the Club's second major film 'The First Marlin - A Pioneering Game Fishing Documentary' has required significant investment. To offset this investment, it was decided to ask for sponsors and donations to contribute to the making of the film. It's wonderful to report a number of businesses and people dug deep and assisted funding over a third of the productions cost.
