The case of your missing GFAA Game Fishing Journal has been solved

Updated: Oct 1

Take a look at the new GFAA website.
Be sure to take a look at the new GFAA website when you get a chance - it's really valuable.

Last October, it was decided that the 2025 GFAA Game Fishing Journal would be optionally delivered as hard copies.

State Game Fishing bodies were to advise to whom individual copies would be posted or bulk quantities delivered to club or state officials. The GFAV opted for no copies to be delivered to any GFAV affiliated Clubs at all, since the journal would available in a digital downloadable format – and concern of the cost.

This decision was confirmed when GFAA was told that GFAV had canvassed Clubs and that none wanted a hard copy.

Not wanting to let the truth get in the way of a good story, GFAV believed they had canvassed Clubs and had the authority to submit this advice to GFAA. Many Clubs, including our own, however had not been informed through a mix-up in the communication processes and due diligence. This left us without an opportunity to procure any printed copies (or have them posted out).

The good news is, thanks to member Kevin Oates, getting on the front foot (stirring the pot) and assisting our Club president, we were able to open the lines of communication and have GFAA Secretary Peter Coote and associate Glen Sparks support us with printed Journals. These journals have now arrived to us.

If you'd like a printed journal please direct contact us at info@swordfishandtunnyclub.org and we'll mail one out to you. Otherwise, you can download a copy (see link below) from the GFAA website, along with past additions. Additional copies will also be made available at the Annual Dinner in November for GFAA affiliated members. Moving forward, the Club's aim will be to have hard copies sent directly to Club member, as experienced in the past. Enjoy the read.

Have you visited the new GFAA website. Take a look today.
